Money Laundering and Human Traficking by so called religious NGO

Its sad to hear that some people are blind followers of a particular religious sect without getting into the details of what they do and how they operate. I think most of the religious followers of BAPS are very well aware that the so called religious institute/NGO uses the R-1 visa to get illegal immigrants...

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar seems to be one of India’s biggest export products these days. His popularity already being huge in India itself, many positive reports in several (above all American) media outlets make the guru hugely popular world wide. His popularity reminds us of other best seller gurus before him, like Maharishi or Osho. But these examples in turn remind us perhaps that we should be cautious when it comes to multi-millionaire gurus.

Sri                                                                               Sri

Osho (formerly Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh) of course tops the fraudulent and hypocritical gurus having 96 Rolls Royces while he told his sannyasins were told to renounce attachment to possession. It only takes a little research instead of blind reverence to find a lot of information about how neither him nor his ashrams were quite like he pretended. The whole ‘free love’ idea that gave him the name of ‘guru of the vagina’ didn’t quite work out all the time, he probably was addicted to laughing gas for a certain while and his organization, while based in Oregon, was even linked to murder cases.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was less flamboyant, but is nevertheless put heavily under criticism, not in the least for the question who benefits from the million dollar industry surrounding his persona. The Maharishi got his incredible fame because of his association with the Beatles. Although the Beatles turned away from Maharishi, and in a rather controversial way, his popularity did not wane. One of his following pupils would be none other than Ravi Shankar. This Ravi Shankar would later give himself the honorific title of Sri (’revered’ or ‘holy’) and double it to make a distinction between himself and the famous sitar player with the same name.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is nonetheless very silent about his own guru Maharishi. The Beatles guru is not mentioned on his personal official website or the website of his “Art of Living foundation” – although this is kind of a give away, since the book that introduced Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation to the world was entitled: “The Science of Being and The Art of Living”.

It is in itself questionable why a guru does not mention his own guru. It is only normal in Hindu spirituality to trace one’s lineage of Guru’s, like in the case of Paramahansa Yogananda, the founder of the Self-realization fellowship who was, besides Vivekananda, the first guru to bring modern Yoga and Indian spirituality to the United states.

Perhaps the rumors on the net are true and Shankar is very disappointed because Maharishi Mahesh Yogi strongly and publicly renounced him after his departure. Or perhaps Sri Sri Ravi Shankar doesn’t mention his guru because of the controversies surrounding the Maharishi. Such a stain in the image does indeed not go well with the overall clean-ness and pure-ness his sites and publications want to attach to Shankar.

To retain that image of being impeccable, much of the history of the founder is clouded in pure mystery. Again and again one can only find the official story of how Sri Sri as a little boy of four already recited the Bhagavadgita, how he had a physics degree at seventeen, and how he discovered Sudarshan Kriya in 1982.

Sudarshan Kriya is supposed to be the thing that makes Shankar so different. Many disagree on this point. The website of Art of Living says “Sudarshan kriya is a completely natural process that was cognized by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar during divine meditation”. Others claim it is simply old Yoga techniques rolled into a new and more commercial package.

In any case Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had “Sudarshan Kriya” registered it as a trademark – though this move makes it more funny than different. When reading web pages about Sri Sri’s spirituality, all of the sudden a copyright sign is seen every time Sudarshan Kriya is mentioned. It is strange for somebody who does not care for ‘worldly matters’. He himself says he had to register the trademark, because otherwise others would have done it, and made profit on his expense. But perhaps he simply learned if from his own Guru once again, as it is again something the Maharishi has done before him when trademarking transcendental meditation.

Transcendental meditation is centered around the extremely old practice of chanting mantra’s. Sudarshan Kriya is centered around the extremely old Yoga breath exercises. In both cases, although their respective promoter-gurus claim the opposite, there’s nothing new under the sun.

The art of living foundation and Shankar of course say that you have to really try and do it before you can realize what is so different. But trying it would imply paying quite a lot of money for the courses offered at the Ashram or several centres around the world. Those who choose not to pay and to just observe it from a distance see no difference with other breathing exercises that are used in older Yoga forms, in rebirthing exercises or in some of the many Osho meditations one can try at the Osho resort.

Also in the claims of its effects the Art of Living foundation goes through great lengths to show what is so special about it, but for somebody with a bit of background into yoga or meditation in general, they absolutely fail in that effort. When they’re programs promise reducing stress, reduction of depression, peace of mind and serenity, better health and well being, increased energy and stamina, making you more self-aware, harmonious relations at home and work, and so on, you can not help but wondering: in what way do they offer anything different than any other form of meditation?

Pupils from every guru and adepts of every form of meditation make the same claims as to how the encounter with the person or meditation changed their lives. From more self-confidence over energetic awarenesses to more health. And of course they claim so, as these things have exactly been the point of doing Yoga ever since its origin many many centuries ago. Sudarshan is no different in that respect.

Even the claim that it could help against cancer and aids has already been made by the other Indian export product in guruism: Ramdev. In the case of Ramdev the Indian Ministry of Health government of India stepped in to rebuke the claim. Ramdev replied that his idea was misrepresented. He believed that Yoga and Ayurveda together can alleviate the suffering from aids, not cure it. In order to escape from further legal consequences he distanced himself from some over the top claims made by some of his ‘admirers’. It was nonetheless this kind of ‘admiration’ and the propaganda about the miraculous powers of the guru, his yoga and his products that proved to be the perfect marketing strategy to make his ayurvedic business very lucrative.

Unlike Ramdev, but just like Maharishi, Ravi Shankar loves to provide a huge amount of scientific research that backs up his claims about Sudarshan Kriya. On his website you can find many links to scientific articles that are supposed to proof the effectiveness of Sudarshan Kriya Yoga. The studies seem to indicate for example that it helps against depression, and that it brings better antioxidant status and lower blood lactate levels.

But, if one takes a close look, it actually does not seem to show what is so amazing about Sudarshan Kriya. Both lower lactate levels and better antioxidant status for example might simply be attributable to a better breathing pattern of the subjects and not so much to Sudarshan particularly. Depression on the other hand is something that exists in many possible forms and of which some as well are in general helped (not cured – as the articles also do not say the Yoga is a direct cure) by learning to control the mind, which again is a general outcome of any meditation.

On top of it, the research on the effect of Sudarshan on cancer does not say that Sudarshan helps against cancer because of some ‘energetic effect’, but simply because the breathing exercises seemed to help smokers to quit. “This result could mean that regular practice might reduce the incidence and progression of cancer” because of “a reduction in tobacco consumption.” The less people smoke, the less cancer they will have. Sounds logical. Nothing mysterious here. Meditation is not a miraculous healer. Learning to breath properly just helps people to leave of smoking. It should not surprise therefore that the same study researched both Sudarshan and Pranayama and concluded that they both helped just as much.

On top of it, when one turns from those research articles back to the normal web pages of the Art of Living, it is amazing to see how all the ’scientificness’ has all of the sudden gone. On the Sudarshan Kriya page it says that “this unique breathing practice is a potent energizer. Every cell becomes fully oxygenated and flooded with new life. Negative emotions that have been stored as toxins in the body are easily uprooted and flushed out.” What might ‘a potent energizer’ be in scientific terms? Energy in scientific terms is not the prana of the Yoga terms. And how does a concept like ‘new life’ relate to oxygenation of blood? Oxygenation is simply a chemical term describing the amount of oxygen in the blood. And what on earth are ‘the toxins’ that store ‘negative emotions’ in the body? A proper scientific research proving the existence of those would surely be very hard to find.

The research the Art of Foundation mentions is therefore not at all linked to the concepts that the organization uses in advertising its products. The wording all of the sudden becomes an obvious case of pseudo-scientific language when they explain it in their ‘own’ terms.

Thus, if Shankar’s Sudarshan Kriya helps, it’s because the control of breathing through Yoga helps. What is so wondrous about that? It has been known in India for thousands of years.

So what is the difference between Shankar and others. It is not the fact that he is a famous guru – many have been before him – it is not his message – because that as well sounds very similar to those before him – and it is not the technique – for many techniques do the same. Some critics claim it is the immensely good PR department behind him that helps him to (literally) sell his Sudarshan to the whole world. He’s a better businessman than the others, they say.

Supporters of Ravi will reply time and again that those critics should stop attacking ‘his holiness’ without real arguments and should look at what he has done for the world. And indeed one of the difference with Shankar and the other gurus exported to the west seems to be his emphasis on development work.

But when one again has a deeper look at the types of development work Shankar and the Art of Living is engaged in, some questions can again be raised. His organization splits up in many branches of which one is the “International Association for Human Values” that was set up together with the Dalai Lama. The real structure behind all these organizations is not really comprehensible and it is very difficult to get a decent overview of the whole.

Not minding about the structure, one can just look at the immense variety of development work the whole of the organization is supposed to be involved in. Trauma relieve after the earthquake in Kashmir or the Tsunami in Tamil Nadu, women empowerment courses, rural development, prisoner rehabilitation, youth education, promoting ayurvedic medicine, and so on make up an impressive list of which one can not help but wonder how it is possible to all be set up by one man.

One thing makes it more comprehensible: in most of the different problems they simply bring the same ’solution’: Sudarshan Kriya. Whether it is people having no homes after an earthquake, women that have to be empowered to face their suppression in male dominated societies, inmates in jails that need to refocus their lives or rural kids that need education, the art of living comes to teach them their meditation practices so that they can be relieved from their ’stress’ and ‘fears’.

What else the Art of Living does is a bit of a mystery when watching the promotional video’s. Most of those consist of interviews with people like kids in Kashmir or inmates in South Africa, after a Sudarshan session who say they feel ’so much more relieved’ now. Whether they are also materially and/or socially relieved from the situation that put them in their ’stressful’ situation is not known.

Anyone a bit involved in development work knows how slow it goes, how much time and effort it takes. Anyone a bit experienced in the difficulty of thorough development initiatives that have a bit of a lasting effect knows that it is rather impossible to reach “30,000 villages through personal interactions, teachings and humanitarian initiatives and to reach out to an estimated 300 million people worldwide.” like Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s personal website states.

Certainly when you consider that Shankar himself is not involved in really leading the development work. He himself is conducting classes, giving lectures and traveling all over the world.

Some of the other efforts of the Art of Living foundation therefore involve Ravi Shankar personally meeting with and talking to leaders of various religious and political groups. But the depth of these talks is also questionable as he invariably proposes those leaders the same message: more peace through more friendly dialog and breathing techniques. Nothing concrete but simply a good emphasis on “love, peace and understanding” that should do the trick apparently.

Armed with this advice, Shankar headed for Iraq, and somebody in America got the idea of sending Iraqis to Shankar’s Ashram in Bangalore, India. Official reason: reduction of the trauma of the war and more empowerment of the women so that they can go back and lead their communities. To achieve this, once again, in the video news reports we could see how this translates in Shankar or his pupils teaching Sudarshan Kriya as a solution to the ’stress’ and the ‘problems’ of the Iraqis. As if the post-war situation of Iraq is comparable to the problems of an American house wife who has difficult kids in their puberty.

This oversimplification was very apparent when Shankar was in Iraq and gave an interview to CNN. He said he wanted to bring non-violence like Mahatma Gandhi and that he wanted the several parties to simply talk to each other peacefully instead of drawing arms. But that exactly showed how little he knew really of Mahatma Gandhi. The Mahatma for one had understood that the parties ‘not being able to talk’ was exactly the problem. The Mahatma at certain points knew that proposing a ‘peaceful dialog’ was simply ludicrous. At those moments Gandhi would resort to non-violent civil disobedience.

Not with flower power peaceful words did the Mahatma try to win independence, but with strenuous action. Non-violent, but with action nonetheless, and not with words or meditation. Gandhi understood the ’stress’ of the Indians not to be simply a spiritual problem but to be a material, social, political as well as a spiritual problem. If Gandhi had simply told people to meditate to get rid of their ‘anger’, he would not have gotten far in all likelihood, because it certainly was not only ‘anger’ they had to get rid of.

If Sri Sri Ravi Shankar therefore is proposed for the Nobel Peace Prize – a prize which the Mahatma never received although he was five times nominated – it makes one wonder where and how he exactly is creating peace.

His own guru, Maharishi, once went to Pinochet to propose to the dictator that if only he and others in his country would meditate twenty minutes in the morning and twenty minutes in the evening everybody would be better off and get closer to world peace. The future showed that perhaps Pinochet just didn’t listen to well. But perhaps such an effort is also simply not very effective or comparable to the efforts of Martin Luther King, Desmond Tutu or Nelson Mandela and as such not really worthy of being given a Nobel Peace Prize for it. In Maharishi’s case nobody considered to do so.

In Maharishi’s case, just like Osho’s for example, public controversies made it of course obvious that he was a bit ‘bogus’ and ‘dodgy’. In Shankar’s case the critics do not often come up with anything concrete to pin on Ravi Shankar and unmask him as a fraud, except personal stories of individual encounters and experiences.

His very commercial New Age image is far from a crime and does not at all take away the possibility that he might be genuinely wishing well for his followers and the rest of the world.

But, as the previous analysis has shown, there is certainly enough grounds for reasonably doubt as well. So he might just as well be a man on search of money, fame and glory through Guruism. His blatant exaggerations and mystifications in presenting himself and Sudarshan Kriya seem at least to point in that direction.

Or he might be a bit a fraud and a bit genuine. Again, he wouldn’t be the first in that sense either.

In any case, the whole world should by now have enough memories of encounters with various guru’s that are at least be a bit suspicious in certain cases. Certainly in cases like Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s, because it involves many many millions of dollars of which nobody really seems to know where they’re going to.

So to use a spiritual word that for once was not exported out of India, it remains to be seen and heavily investigated whether Ravi Shankar is “kosher” enough to be given the Nobel Peace Prize or even the title of Sri, and certainly when using it in double.

In view of all the latest news about Indian godmen sex scandals, I wonder whether Sri Sri RaviShankar will agree for castration. After all he is supposed to be a Sanyasi and hence Sex does not matter isn’t it? By the way we all can be sure there won’t a sex scandal involving this guy years from now.. Come on Sri Sri- Get yourself castrated voluntarily.

Dear Ones,

I think one very good blog I have read is by ex-Full time teacher/s KLIM & Co. http://artoflivingfree.blogspot.com.

It is one thing to preach and put up a public face and another thing to practice it in private. Very few people know Sri Sri over many years in many situations and very closeley. This person/people have.
A lot of people first get enticed by the outside sugar coating and rationalize the inner poison.

Let’s not loose our common sense, let’s not loose our basic intellect. The means do not justify the end. Let’s not loose our mind and blindly follow a guru or a group. Let’s not be a follower with fear but with love. It is one thing to be on the outer realms of Art of Living and another thing to be in the inner circle.

As far as being illegal, immoral or unhealthy…I think even if it can’t be proved or audited by 3rd party where the millions go, if there is investigative journalism that finds out where the millions are going and the seva is a front and the cost of projects is fraction of the amount raised. If people find out that there really is no transparency or accountability, the public will quickly defame Sri Sri and the Art of Living. In US at least this will happen quicker than in India.

No organization or person or thing is completely right nor wrong. We need to recognize both. We should not go on the other end and completely label something as ‘bad’. Again this come from an understanding of reality. However; one needs to recognize make right choices and move on past a stage of shock or confusion.

It is important that for humans to be established in understanding and practicing their belief system, eg. hinduism, not let an organization or person override the principles and values established for thousands of years.

There is much much more under the surface….

I had severe wheexing ptoblem.I learnt the art of sudarshana kriya. After doing the sudarshan kriya on the 1st day I found my disease had gone for ever.I continue to do kriya and Iam hale and healthy.

It is nice to see that a religious perceptional reformation is on amongst younger generation. My question is that why most of us seek somebody’s help to obtain enlightenment in light. According me we do not require any swamy or swamini is required to reach God since all are equal. The best way is to go to teachers in the field of academics who can help us to come up through obtaining a degree of PG or more. Why run after these self declared power of attorney holders of God? About ten years back I sent several communications about “Bagavan” KALKI who is the creator so many drug addicts. As a compromise formula I was offered a post in his ashram with unbelievably high monetary benefits and “other comforts”.
There is only one way to have happiness. Believe in ourselves and never believe who claim to have special devine powers. There is nothing like that. It is imperative that a “cleaning process is required amonst “swamys and Swaminis”. Let us save Gods too by not allowing any individuals caliming exclusive rights on them. The best way is to have confidence in ourselves.

You are definitely not alone! Thousands have picked-up the fight, me included.

Mighty blows have been struck against Kripalu, Ravi Shankar, Asaram and many others.

i personally believe that – if i have total experience of SUDARSHAN KRIYA then only i have a write to comment on it, othervise not. and so, if u did not exprience KRIYA for few months , then take experience it and then wright about it, othervise not.

The major responsibilities of an AOL member are:-

1. Spend (attend) on many courses a year ($$$)
2. Market (convince) the course to more people ($$$)
3. Donate and collect donation ($$$)
4. Spend their money and time on Service Projects ($$$)

The Major achievements of AOL (Guru Ji) are:-

1. Collecting all fees and donations ($$$)
2. Spending on Properties, Airfares and Hotels ($$$)
3. Transferring remaining monies to overseas bank accounts and relatives ($$$)
4. Claiming member’s funded service projects as the end use of funds

In each and every case, you can see two extremes of opinions. You can propagate anything, because we are living in India.

What I would like to say about Sri Sri Ravisankar that you have to see only good things that he extends to you. If you try for finding his guru or the finncial sources from where it accrues – all these are baseless equiries.

If you are a reformer of the society, no problem that you can do, but one thing could be kept in mind that neertheless negative people are not a blessing, but a curse to the society last point of time. Let’s wait and see.

Sai Baba?? Feel bad when I post this link, but truth should be known to all…

It has been practised by great yogis for centuries and it’s benefits are very well known.

I have read somebody writen that he has done some three basic courses and one advance course and yoga etc. by giving fees all time, which, in my conscious, is unbelievable because no additional Part I course (Basic Course) is charged. All negative comments are endorsed from US and referring USD. It seems, those are fake and untrue.

I, too, have some experience which, in no way match those I read. Why these persons those quote remarks are afraid of giving their actual name and address? Let them be bold and true.

jai guru dev…..

After every 2 days, these people from Art of Living come 2 me and start asking for money to join a course. the very fact that Rs. 3000 is taken from young students tells that He Is A VERY BIG FRAUD.

Do you see all things from only money percpective. If yes, then you would find solace in this article.

ayurvedic medicines really work and it is cheaper than conventional medicines too.’-:

awesome blog meghana….carry on ur work abut this frauds…who make people fool for the sake of money..money…

i agree with Srini. The breathing excercise is the only good thing in the course. All those other talks are rubbish.

Sri Sri Louda Shanker is fake tamil con artist like aunty nityanada, if people believe in his shit blindly they should take their entire family for AOL inter-courses.

Even after 100 years of independence these slum minded educated souls believe in these low lifes.

i went through all the mail , i request everybody before they talk or discuss they should first understand can the Truth anybody can explain ? , we are talking about void, timeless, immeaureable, and silence . The movement some body says i can give this is nothing but a crab. How come any so called guru can take there, we are living in a world were we live in dangerous world , everybody boost of some or other thing, we try to take some rest or catch some guru for gratification of our mind soothing. Nothing more than that the guru , mullas, and pontiff can give.
Pl go through voltaire, jhon locke.montesquee, beterand russel, jkrihnamurti, pupul jakar , vimal takar ,plto, socrates, and so on u can get some conscusiounes change from there u can start .

I think it is weakness of humans for need to be part of something – they feel secure that way. That’s why they deify someone as Guru and then go on follow the cult. This is also why lot of people follow cult/faith/religion blindly.
I think there are good teachings and stuff from all these Gurus..but people should sample the good from them and move on without allegiance. Why do people feel the need to be identified with any Guru..take it for whatever it is worth and implement the good in your life without following the Gurus like crazy. It is better to sample teachings of different Gurus, faiths and religions without converting.

I was attatcheed to aol for two years i had gone much deeper and what i found out was only filth in the name of divinity.

i wondered are we really going to stay after may be another 50 or 100 years. Who will read and follow your words, who cares for you. Realize life now or we will never in life time. Guru is indeed needed but we are not enough knowledgeable or guru to choose guru. We only most times do window shopping of choosing guru and talk as though we are guru. Look behind you already lost few minutes of life and towards death. bye happy journey towards death.

Many of you are lost in your own thoughts. You have these ego-bound, conceptual criteria that must be met in order to trust a spiritual teacher. Go with the experience. Take some time with their practices and then see if it is for you or not. After some time then you can decide if this practice is for you or not. Don’t judge based soley on an idea! You are selling them and yourselves short by doing this.

Guruji is Almighty. He IS MY LIFE.So plz think before hurting anyones feelings. Its an REQUEST COZ guruji has taught us the way of peace, love and joy.Hope your karmas will be soon right and u will join yhe art of living.Contact me whenever u will need The Art Of Living. We r always ready 2 HELP.By the way JAI GURGDEV.

@Shrenik, God is Almighty. Not your your so-called Guruji. I feel sorry for you, you brain washed zombie.

Sri sri ravi shankar is a very big FRAUD. He is intelligent and can effect foolish people through his words. But actually he is a venture capitalist whose real talent is to earn money. I wish to share my experience woth you and also thank Meghna for writing about this. I had a friend in my hostel who was a volunteer in art of living. She forced me into a course that amounted Rs 3000. I told her I didn’t have money, but she persisted to force in a manner as if she had been trained. I found it very irritating, but I finally agreed. I found the course interesting, but not worth Rs. 3000, since the course was meant for students. I talked to her about the benefits of the techniques taught, and she told me that it would change my entire life if I kept on practicing. She told that she has been practicing. Let me inform you that she already had a weak body. After few days, her strength deteriorated to such an extent that she had to quit PhD in middle and return to her home town, though she didn’t have any major ailment. Strange. This simply tells us the benefits of art of living. This simply proves how FRAUD art of living is. It also proves that volunteers are trained and provided commission to bring candidates. And where does the rest of the money go?

It is true that Osho owned 96 Rolls Royces, and it is true that he lived with all luxurys the man can have , and at the other side he said to his people to renounce the world, possesions. But u have to understand it more deeply and not judge fast, because u can misinterpretate it. and that what this meghana is doing. The way i understand is that osho didnt say to drop things, posessions , etc…. literaly but to not get identified with them , because if we look a little bit we cannot own nothing ,yes we can touch it , we can feel ,smeell it but cannot possess it. this word possess is mental attachment, clingines. We cannot even possess our own body, because when we die,or when we live our body, the body will die, which means we can not possess it. We can feel body , know it, but cannot possess it. Possession is menta attachment. What Osho wanted to prove to the outside people of his ashram is that a man can live a rich life ,both, outside (materialy) and inside(spiritualy), which mean man can have both , wealth and happines. In the end sorry for my bad english and thank you for your reading!!

nobody is forced to believe in this concept, but does not require derogatory remarks, we indians are very adapt in criticising people who are definitely trying to make some difference, is i harmful if someone is trying to say peace in world, saying no to drugs, girl child infanticide, and so on, if all these were preached by someone from west, we would have raised sky in praise. if someone is trying for awareness about ayurveda, yoga, welfare projects etc, what is the harm. we ourselvses will not do all these things, but criticise without any base or serious thought, if he is trying to spread some good in society where is the harm, at least someone is trying, he cannot be compared nithyananda, this is height of ignorance

we are not zombies, but can also think and rationalize like you, as chumri said about illness, maybe she was suffering from some serious illness, it cannot be attributed to art of living, this is stretching too far, when you are yourself skeptical about benefits of kriya in firs place, it will not help you, if you do no believe in your studies how will it help you. it is not instant panacea, as nohing is as u very well know, so why single out kriya, nor is yoga for hat matter, it will not agree with all unless done properly and with conviction and beleif, if not it is no use blogging away in air, if u want to do anything do it whole heartedly and with conviction, only then it will be really beneficial, the sayings may seem rot because proper attention is not being given, we should not expect always but be aware of our responsibilities and duties

I do not know about the rest of the world but i want to say that i personally feels the divine power of GURUJI
I pray to THE god that he give you some wisdom also, because “intelligence is not wisdom” AND YOU NEED IT.

JAI GURUDEV!!!

meghna spot on like wiki leaks did expose these fake swamis especially since he is a bigger fake than all of them.his devotees will never stop growing and his popularity will rise since people are basically very innocent and naive.i know guruji more than anybody and was keeping mum till this time wikileaks gives me an inspiration to reveal truth what i feel.art of living folks please excuse me its my thoughts if its not right for you dont take it.to anoop madhushudanan meghna should not go to kanakapura road and discuss since her life can be in danger since i know how much capacity guruji has and what sort of access he has.when you are in ashram and shakti kutir you would not know since you dont feel any tinge.all the top decisions and main stream art of living is done by their admin including bhanu did narasimhan and their sons they make decisions most of you loyal fools dont know although it may seem they are not at all interfering.all these breathing and happiness is good but this was in hinduism long before and our scripture says when you make this practises as a tool to make money it loses its effects and is only in the pheriphery.all loyals only lucky people will escape him and when you are in you will feel its the worlds best institution and i am in heaven.to all hindu loyalists i am a an rss person i have no fear in saying that and an ardent supporter of bjp and narendra modi but i have a secular outlook and my dream is to see one country which includes pakisatn bangladesh srilanka and india .being a hindu lover is to be honest i cannot support a fake hindu i will support anyone who is honest i dont care about his religion i believe thats what hinduism has taught me.in uk they are selling art of living local satsangs for 15 pounds entry fee even at this hard time of recession.they charge 380 pounds for a course which is criminal since no other ashrams even charge 100 pounds which is valued as good amount in uk,it was very strange and funny to see i free on one entrant in basic course as advertising like uk supermarkets like tesco asda do as they were not getting enough people and discounts for bringing more people.meghna keep up the good work and like somebody mentioned you dont need anybody for accessing god and self realisation and rss is not some organisation who supports any hindu for namesake please understand that it has its ownmethods

To all loyalist about the story about somebody shooting at guruji.this is the truth.there is goat farmer near gurujis ashram in kanakapura road.he has a herd of goats.some wild animals nor big something like foxes were attacking them.so the farmer had an airgun to protect them.when guruji was in the ashram he had misfired one bullet trying to protect his herd and it hit one of gurujis devotees sitting in the dining hall and he realisedsomething hit him.then the pr decided to make this story since swami ramdev was getting more popular and guruji wanted more attention at that time.if you have guts ask guruji annop madhusudhanan if he doesnt not lie he will admit.the karnataka djp knows the whole story as well.so that is gurujis pr.guys be loyal continue doing that its your life but do not speak like masters of calmness and spirituality.i know guruji for more than 20 years.i have split with him since it was getting too commericial and i do not think its right since hindu culture says if you convert spirituality into money its more sin than anything else.i am also not commenting since i want to speak out against him since i split .i do it since i think its appropriate that world should know truth and for loyalists you can continue be loyal and dont get gettered by anybody else comments at the same time every individual has the right to say what he has experienced .to all loyalist and new blokes i am art of living oldie who was there from the start not only me my whole family

Meghana sharma ,

I did many courses of AOL, and found it beneficial for me. I am also the witness of others who are also getting happiness from this. So better you join this and then experience this, and then only you are entitled to write some thing. Without any depth knowledge of any subject, how you can have this all nonsence !!!! There are lots of AOLers who can easily defeat your points. But they dont want to waste there time in to all this……

You need to educate your self , and first try to understand the magic of being silence. (celebrating the silence) SRI SRI is sencere seeker……..

Please tell me what is called “great Yoga” as per your point of view… and then compare it with sri sri and come again …you will find all of your answer.

Further, AOL never fourse you or any one to join it…there are lots of other yoga classes, people are free to go….and remember….to run the NGO , to do seva and to help pooer people money is always required. without money this can not happen… So guruji is not selling his product….even if , we believe that he is exporting his sudarshan kriya , then you should be prouod of this things that one Indian is now becoming gloable day by day…

Finally, we all are aware that even Loard Krishna was having lots of criticisam, millions of people were against him and know body was knowing that he is “Parmatma” he is “God”….only Pandavas and “Yadava’s” were knowing that loard krishna is God. Finally, Even Duryodhan also came to knwo that Krishna is god…This happens before 5000 years….thereafter all world is now knowing that krishna was there in real life as God but people who was against him was also taken care by Loard krishna….In the same manner all person who are not knowing the Guru “Tatva” ….we can’t say any thing…God may Bless them.

Being Hindu you should shy abt your self as you are doing nonsence….

Jay Gurudev.

Only time will tell the greatness or lies of a man,…. If god is there and if he has a plan for me and shri shri is the guru then i am ready to give it a try.

As for the people who are fuming at the success of my guru….. either u guys dont have anything good to do in ur lifes other than hating people like Shri Shri or MOST CERTAINLY SOMEONE IS PAYING U TO SPEW VENOM ON BLOGS ACROSS THE NET.. if u really think u had a bad experience with some godman, produce proofs, go to court, bring them to justice… but u chickens dont have the guts or are simply indulging in mud slinging…

As for others who happen to read these reviews by these stupid people…. Believe in urself more than in anyone else, if u feel the love… then probably it is love. also know that these people writing bad about shri shri are doing what they want to do, but have u seen shri shri mudslinging or fighting back these people? NO.

JAB HAATHI SADAK PAR CHALTA HAI TAB KUTTE BHONKTE HI HAI :)

Dont forget what shri shri says… Sadhana, Seva and Satsang is all u have to do in ur life to attain bliss and u dont have to pay for that daily.

doing courses etc (which ofcourse are very good) is upto u. If u think they are expensive, ask for help or consult a teacher who i am sure will show u a way if u dont have money for the courses and still are interested in doing them.

JGD.

Mr. Ravishankar is a FRAUD. where is all the money going? My cousin is a volunteer there in his aashram. I really pity for him. he just can’t get out of his trap. He don’t want to marry and he doesn’t behave like a normal young lad. He thinks Ravishankar is a god.
His followeres are like a cult. They all need a psychiatric treatments. People like Ravi Shankar should be behind bars.
